"We were all new once, and this is the place that we grew."
We are only able to support poets and run our events through the kindness of our volunteers, helpers and producers.
Roles within our community:
Poets - If you've always wanted to give it a go, or you're brand new, we'd love to hear your work
Front of house - Taking tickets, saying hi to people
MC or Host of slams - Too many of our poets want to take part in our events, we're on the lookout for those special people interested in being the guide
DJ or Musicians - Add to the fun of our events
Timekeepers - Make sure our poets stay under 3 minutes!
Movers and shakers - Maybe you know local venues, are connected to a business that might want to help out, or want to see more poetry in your area, you can make it happen and we can help!
Producers - We're always looking for people keen to learn the ropes of being an artistic producer
Workshop leaders - If you're a poet and have some education experience, we'd love to hear from you
Teachers - We've done many school workshops and performances,
Donors - We are a registered charity and every little bit helps
If any of these sound like you, please get in touch through social media, email kiaora@motifpoetry.co.nz or our contact form here. Poetry communities are lovely, supportive, and welcoming. Thank you in advance.
