January 2018 - Maras
Maras is a French poet and rapper with Spanish and Algerian roots. He grew up in Paris suburbs, and found poetry slam through his Senegalese friend from New-Jersey.
He is the Vice world champion of freestyle rap (2016) and gives the public tremendous energy in his performance and lyrics.

February 2018 - Liam Jacobson
Auckland-based artist, Liam Jacobson’s work is mostly about growing up in the city with all the people, places and parties. He obsessively writes to reinvent and navigate his world and make sense of it all. He’s performed in New Zealand, Australia and Scotland. He was a finalist in Rising Voices and the 2016 National Poetry Slam.

March 2018 - Jessie Fenton
Jessie is a previous national slam runner-up (2015), Poetry Idol winner, and Word: the Front Line coach. She's cheerfully hopeless and hopelessly cheerful, and last year she managed to write 100 poems in 100 days, so she's got a lot of material to get through. This was her first time featuring at Poetry in Motion.

Ben is a multi-time PIM feature and a always welcome. A PIM alumni, Ben was here launching a new book, "Some Traveller" before heading back to the UK.
May 2018 - Daisy Speaks
Daisy stands on the shoulders of tulafale (orators) from the shores of Samatau and Vailu’utai in Samoa. Born and raised in South Auckland, she now resides in Christchurch.
She’s currently an engagement advisor for Regenerate Christchurch - the urban planning agency leading regeneration post-quake, producing an Art exhibition for Alternative Education Schools and completing her Masters of Business Administration at the University of Canterbury.
Crowned the 2017 NZ Slam Poetry Champion, Daisy loves the power words have to enable self-awareness, make sense of the world, to heal and to speak forth the future we want to create.
June 2018 - Te Kahu Rolleston
Te Kahu is a descendant of the waves that break against the shores of Tauranga Moana, he is from the islands that shelter the smooth waters of Tauranga, from the rough seas of the ocean known as Te moana nui a Kiwa.
As well as winning the 2013 New Zealand National Slam, He has appeared on numerous television shows including Good Morning, I am TV, Pukana, 2kaha & Radio Tainui. He has recently been published in Puna Wai Kōrero: An Anthology of Māori Poetry in English from Auckland University Press. Recently graduated from Waikato University, Te Kahu currently work at Te Aho Tūroa-Enviroschools where amongst other things he creates and delivers inspiring informative poetry resources and workshops for rangatahi.
July 2018 - Carrie Rudzinski
Carrie Rudzinski is a performance poet and published author from the United States who ranked 4th in the world at the 2014 Women of the World Poetry Slam. Featured in Bustle, The Huffington Post and Teen Vogue, she has performed her work over the past 12 years in 6 countries and almost all 50 of the United States. She is the current Programme Co-ordinator for the Michael King Writer's Centre's The Poetry Project and teaches Performing Arts and Creative Writing at Manukau Institute of Technology in Auckland.
August 2018 - Tayi Tibble
Tayi Tibble is a writer and poet from Te Whanganui a Tara. She holds a Masters degree in creative writing from the International Insititute of Modern Letters. She was the 2017 recipient of the Adam Foundation prize. Her first book, Poūkahangatus is being published by Victoria University Press on July 12th. Her work has also been published in Starling, Landfall, The Spinoff, The Wireless, and Poetry Magazine.
September 2018 - Nalini Singh
Nalini Singh won the 2014 Auckland University Poetry Slam and founded the Auckland Uni Poetry Society. She has recently featured at Hugo Grrrl's Wellington Feminist Poetry Club and is a regular at PIM events.

Dominic Hoey (Tourettes) is a poet, author, and musician based in Auckland, New Zealand. He’s released five critically acclaimed studio albums, two books of poetry, four short films, a one man show and a best-selling novel.
In a former life, he was an MC battle-and slam-poetry champion. He’s performed his spoken-word poetry in Australia, Europe, England, Japan, and America. He also works as an arts mentor, teaching rangatahi excluded from mainstream education.
His novel Iceland, was longlisted for the 2017 Ockham book awards and was featured in the Listeners top 100 books of 2017.
November 2018 - Sara Hirsch
Sara Hirsch is a London grown poet and spoken word educator currently on loan to New Zealand. She is a former UK Slam Champion, ranked third in the World Slam Championships in 2014 and won the European Slam in Madrid in 2016. She is a TEDx speaker, has performed at Glastonbury and live on the BBC and has toured extensively, both in the UK and Internationally. Sara recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Creative Writing and Education from The University of London and is education director for the NZ based production company‘Motif Poetry’. Sara has published two full-length collections with Burning Eye Books and her poetry has appeared in Journals/Anthologies in four continents. She is currently splitting her time between hemispheres, spending too much time on long-haul flights and attempting to dismantle the patriarchy, one poem at a time. www.sarahirsch.co.uk @sarsbars89.
December 2018 - Hadassah Grace
Hadassah Grace is a writer and performer living in Wellington. She has been published by Vice, Nerve, Radio New Zealand, and The NZ Herald, and her poetry has been featured in many literary journals and anthologies throughout New Zealand and North America.
She was a featured poet at the Wellington Opera House as part of the award-winning The Menagerie Deluxe. She performed her poetry as part of a reinterpretation of George Bernard Shaw's celebrated and controversial play Mrs Warren's Profession with the Auckland Theatre Company, directed by Eleanor Bishop. Her debut collection of poems, How to Take Off Your Clothes, is set to be released early next year through Dead Bird Books.
Telling tales of a life lived wild, her anecdotal style combines storytelling, metaphor, and comedy to create a unique and disarming performance.
