January 2017 - Andy Coyle
Andy Coyle is up from Christchurch promoting his book "Ode to the Cyclist", his first volume of poetry. Andy performs regularly at live venues, with jazz and folk musicians, at street festivals, literary festivals, poetry slam, and solo poetry shows. He twice has represented Christchurch at the National Poetry Slam finals.
February 2017 - Erin Bolens
Erin is a poet, performer and workshop leader from Leeds, in the North of England. She is currently a resident artist at the Roundhouse, London and gigs regularly across the country - and now the world! The last time she visited New Zealand she was 6 and refused to wear shoes for 6 months after returning home...
March 2017 - Hera Lindsay Bird and Freya Daly Sadgrove
Hera Lindsay Bird's debut self titled collection Hera Lindsay Bird was published by Victoria University Press in 2016 and has received massive accolades.
Freya Daly Sadgrove is a writer and performer in Wellington. Her work has appeared in LEFT, Mimicry, Sweet Mammalian, Scum and Shabby Doll House.
April 2017 - Ben Fagan and Sara Hirsch
Sara Hirsch is a British poet and spoken word educator, a former UK Slam Champion and was third ranked in the World Slam Championships in 2014. She's just recently published a poetry collection "Still Falling", called "Annoyingly good" by Harry Baker.
Ben Fagan is one of Wellington's favourite sons (he's from Hawkes Bay though) and near and dear to Poetry in Motion's heart. We are excited and overjoyed that he is coming back to New Zealand, and that he has brought Sara with him again. "Ben Fagan is probably the 2nd nicest guy I know. " - Travis Cottreau.
May 2017 - Dominic Berry
Dominic Berry is an internationally award winning performance poet. He works with children and adults and has toured his verse across USA, Canada, India, New Zealand, Australia and Europe .
His awards include winning New York’s Nuyorican Poetry Cafe Slam, UK Superheroes of Slam and, as of 2017, seven Arts Council England Grants for the Arts awards.
June 2017 - Duncan Hope
Duncan Hope is a performance poet based in New Zealand's cultural epicentre - Hawke's Bay. In addition to mastering sarcasm, Duncan has also written some poems his mum once described as: "Yeah, alright." These alright poems have a tendency to be dynamic, contemporary, and rich in words plucked from a 1972 Collins Thesaurus.
August 2017 - Van Crof
Van Crof is a Chinese-European artist, performer and poet based in Auckland, New Zealand (but grew up in the burbs of Wellington). One half of Thursday Girls, she runs Fake American Accent at the Basement Theatre, was a Rising Voices National Finalist and the 2015 UoA Slam Champion. Her 2017 poetry show Sexts and Subtweets at the Auckland Fringe Fest won Best Spoken Word and the ATC Here and Now Award. She sometimes writes for print, kinda likes art enough to study it, and is trying to amass enough cultural/social capital to never have to pay for fried noodles again.

He is an internationally touring poet, having performed shows in the UK, Australia, Canada, America and Finland. As a well-known figure on the UK spoken word scene, he has featured at many of the main nights, venues and festivals such as: The Royal Albert Hall, Apples and Snakes events, Poetry In London, Lost Lectures and The Secret Garden Party.
